Rocky Mountain Summer Music Camp 2009

Students of vocal, instrumental, and orchestral music will be enjoying workshops in everything from musicianship to musical theatre to symphonic band at the Colorado State University Rocky Mountain Summer Music Camp, July 12-17.

Camp for music enthusiasts

Students in the Colorado State University Rocky Mountain Summer Camp will be: 

  • Performing in ensembles
  • Receiving individualized instruction
  • Taking numerous elective classes – designed to enhance artistic training and improve music skills

They'll have the rare opportunity to be showcased with famous conductors and clinicians, internationally acclaimed band directors, and celebrity performers while experiencing innovative teaching approaches that enhance their instrumental, vocal and orchestral experience. 

Tools for excelling

The goal of the Colorado State University Rocky Mountain Summer Music Camp is to provide a paramount training ground for enthusiastic music students, furnishing them with the tools they need to learn, create, collaborate, perform and excel.

Rocky Mountain Summer Music Camp 2009 is a six day intensive music performance camp. Camp is open to students entering 7th grade through new high school graduates.  

Primary Courses of Study

  • Bands: Honor, symphonic, concert
  • Choirs: Honor and concert
  • Orchestra: String and full
  • Harp: Harp ensemble and may be placed in orchestra
  • Secondary courses of study
  • Jazz ensembles: Combos, improv, Big Band
  • Marching percussion
  • Drum major
  • Musical theatre: Junior high and senior high
  • Musicianship
  • Masterclasses on all instruments
  • Private lessons
