Librarians: not just in the library!

March 29, 2011

Merinda McLure is the Applied Human Sciences Librarian, serving the Masters of Public Health Program; the departments of Food Science and Human Nutrition, Foreign Languages and Literatures, Health and Exercise Science, Human Development and Family Studies, and Occupational Therapy; and the School of Social Work. Louise Feldmann is the Business and Economics Librarian, serving departments in the College of Business as well as the Department of Economics.

Two CSU librarians, Louise Feldmann and Merinda McLure, are providing weekly, on-site, “The Librarian is in” reference services for the College of Business and in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies this spring semester.

These projects bring Feldmann and McLure into the spaces in which students, faculty, and staff learn, research, and work.

When the “Librarian is in,” expert research assistance is just a few steps away from students’ classrooms and faculty offices.

McLure credits Dr. Lise Youngblade, Professor and Department Head, Human Development and Family Studies, and the Libraries’ Jeff Bullington, Coordinator of College Liaisons, with enthusiastically supporting and making possible her on-site hours for Human Development and Family Studies. Thanks is also due to staff and faculty in HDFS who continue to help spread the word to students!

Louise Feldmann recently re-introduced this service to Rockwell. Many thanks go to the College of Business administration, faculty, and tech folks for their continued support and assistance.
