Artist Melanie Lowrance

Much of Lowrance's work consists of large-scale figurative drawing and painting and deals with psychological narrative themes. Her work is currently on exhibit in the Lory Student Center's Curfman Gallery.

The Curfman Gallery invites you to view an exhibit highlighting the recent works of artist Melanie Lowrance.  

Work widely exhibited

Lowrance, an instructor at the University of Central Missouri, teaches design, drawing, figure construction, and life drawing. Her works have received numerous awards and honors. Her last solo exhibition was at the Kaw Valley Arts Association in Kansas City. 

Her work has been exhibited locally, regionally, and nationally at such venues as the Elizabeth Laurence Contemporary Art Center in San Francisco, the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, Ark., the Fuller Projects in Bloomington, Ind., Wright State University Gallery in Dayton, Ohio, and the Wichita Center for the Arts in Wichita, Kan.

Curfman gallery hours

The Curfman Gallery is open:

  • Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
