Sue Pinkus was nominated by a co-worker at the Department of Parking Services who said, 'Sue is about the most outgoing worker in our office. She can strike up a conversation with anyone.'
Sue Pinkus, Administrative Assistant II, Department of Parking Services
“This is a real asset when it comes to customer relations. Sue is very empathetic with customers when they explain the outstanding circumstances that caused them to get a parking ticket. She quickly gains the customer’s trust by being a good listener and giving helpful feedback. She is very thorough and clear in her explanations to customers of their parking options.
“Sue is constantly thinking of, and bringing up in staff meetings, ways we can improve our services and procedures.”
“Sue is empathetic with her co-workers and remembers to ask us about events in our lives that we have mentioned. Her outgoing personality and great sense of humor lightens the mood and relieves tension in our office. She is an asset to our department.”
Sue has been with Parking Services since June 2009. Previously, She worked in the Department of Music, Theater, and Dance for two years and also in Lab Animal Sciences for two years while attending CSU for her undergraduate degree.
At Sue’s desk is a great variety of plants, all thriving! In addition, pictures of her three dogs and family galore. Sue is passionate about her family (four- and two- footed). Fifteen years in the future, Sue sees herself retiring in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
I asked Sue what she thought of being nominated for Everyday Hero and she said, “Wonderful. It feels good someone notices you and it is rare to have people make a stink about you when you are just doing your job.”
Do you have a colleague who deserves recognition, a co-worker who makes the workplace better or someone who just “made your day?”
Everyday Hero is a special recognition program sponsored by the Classified Personnel Council for recognizing outstanding employees within the CSU community.
All Colorado State University state classified staff, administrative professionals, and faculty members are eligible to receive the award.
