February 24, 2009

Volunteers need for a study on how to prevent decreases in muscle mass and function in older individuals.

We are looking for healthy, non-smoking males and females, 55-75 years of age, for a study about how to maintain muscle with age.

You will complete heart and blood screening prior to being included in the study.

Initial screening and testing will take place at the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Colorado State University.

Study participation will involve seven days of a controlled diet followed by a six-day inpatient stay at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. While at the Health Science Center you will be provided a controlled diet and be asked to exercise each day. You must be lactose tolerant to participate since milk products will be consumed.
