CSU Health Network welcomes new dentist

February 28, 2014

CSU Health Network is pleased to announce Dr. Samantha M. Johnston as a full-time dentist in the dental services department at Hartshorn Health Center.

Johnston  is a familiar face at CSU, having served as relief dentist in the clinic as needed since 1997. She assumes the role previously held by Dr. Chris Yurk, who recently retired after nearly 19 years of dedicated service.

Years of experience in dentistry

Johnston received her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Upon graduation, she accepted a position at Indian Health Service where she provided dental care to Native Americans on the Turtle Mountain Band of the Chippewa Indian Reservation in North Dakota for three years. In 1997, Johnston opened a family dental practice in Fort Collins with her husband, Ron.

She specializes in general dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetic dentistry. Johnston is a Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies graduate and has completed extensive CEREC (ceramic reconstruction) courses.

When not practicing dentistry, she enjoys hiking, skiing, cooking and spending time with her husband and two sons.
