Asian American and Pacific Islander Month

Colorado State University is celebrating the Asian and Pacific American cultures with the 30th annual Asian American and Pacific Islander Month, formerly Asian Fest, April 13-27.

The Hui 'O Hawai'i Annual Lu'au is a fanfare of delicious food, colorful fashions, live music, and Hula and Tahitian dance.This year’s celebration will explore diverse musical and performance styles, cuisines, and provide opportunities for networking.

Hereandnow Theatre Company

Hereandnow Theatre Company will perform 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in the Lory Student Center Theatre. Hereandnow is a company that tours across the nation performing a variety of theatrical vignettes that present the unique Asian American perspectives of its cast.

Community Day

Community Day will be held noon-2 p.m.,Tuesday, April 22, in LSC 228.

With free Subway sandwiches provided, this event is an opportunity for Asian/Pacific American groups on campus to showcase their organizations and programs to students on campus.

Students also can network and make connections with other students and staff from APA backgrounds.

Comedian Paul Varghese

Indian comedian Paul Varghese will perform 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the LSC Theatre. The event is co-sponsored by the Association for Student Activity Programming.

Paul Varghese's act includes a number of observations about being Indian, providing outsider-looking-in and insider-looking-out commentary, while also exploring an array of topics and issues outside that realm. He was named by the Dallas Observer in 2007 as the "Best Stand-up Comic in Dallas" and won the Improv's 2009 "Funniest Comic in Dallas" contest.Comedian Paul Varghese will perform at CSU on April 22.

Asian-themed menu specials

The Aspen Grille is sponsoring Asian-themed menu specials April 24 and 25 in collaboration with API Awareness Month. 

The Aspen Grille is a student operated restaurant located in the University Club on the upper level of the Lory  Student Center. The Grille is open to the public and is open for lunch, Tuesday through Friday during the academic year.

27th Annual Lu'au

And to wrap up the celebration, join CSU students at 5 p.m. April 27 at the Drake Centre, 802 W. Drake Road in Fort Collins, for the 27th annual Lu’au.
