Magazine calls city one of America's best

April 20, 2013

Another publication has recognized what most residents already know: Fort Collins is a great place to live.

Outside Magazine has named Fort Collins an “editor’s choice” for its “America’s Best Towns 2013” list. The city was featured in the Aug. 12 edition of the popular periodical.

The story, which features cities and towns from across the country, bases its choices on a number of factors, including outdoor activities, restaurants, farmer’s markets and youthful vibe. The magazine cited Fort Collins for its microbreweries, access to great hiking and fishing, and the biking culture.

Fort Collins, of course, is a popular choice on many “best of” lists. It has been named American’s top city several times and made numerous Top 10 lists in various categories.

Recently, the Los Angeles Times wrote that Fort Collins “might be the happiest place on Earth.” Livability.com in 2012 called Old Town Fort Collins the No. 1 downtown in America, and Forbes included the city on its list of “Great Urban Weekend Escapes.”

The City of Fort Collins includes recent accolades for the city on its website.
