CSU hosting first Diversity Summit

Noted motivational speaker Marc Williams will give the keynote address at the inaugural CSU Diversity Summit, which begins Friday on campus.

Noted motivational speaker Marc Williams will give the keynote address at the inaugural CSU Diversity Summit, which begins Friday.

The two-day summit features speakers from across the country addressing numerous diversity issues in collegiate athletics. Topics include preparing student-athletes for non-sports careers, homophobia and making minorities feel welcome on campus.

Public invited

All presentations will be held at CSU’s Durrell Center, and are free and open to the public.

Williams, CEO and founder of Williams Communications, was named by Sports Illustrated as one of the 101 most influential minorities in sports. He is an expert on branding, sports marketing, consumer behavior and hip-hop culture.

Keynote open to the public

Williams will speak at noon Friday in Bob Davis Hall on the south concourse of Moby Arena. The event is open to the public but RSVP is required.
