Polo vs. University of Virginia

November 3, 2010

The CSU Men's Polo Club will take on the University of Virginia in a match at the B.W. Pickett Arena at the Equine Sciences Center this Friday. The Polo Club continues to gain support and momentum from the campus community.

Season opener

Intercollegiate ranked #2 CSU takes on #1 UVA  in a men's varsity polo match Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.

The CSU polo club is an entirely student run club sport. There are currently about 40 members including 12 varsity players. The club has 23 horses which are boarded at the CSU Equine Center, where we also play our games in the Picket Arena (see map below). We practice Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays as well as exercise our horses Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The club was founded in 1972 and became an official club sport in 1977. In those 33 years the club has won three national championships first in 1990, then again in 1991, and finally in 1999. As well as introducing hundreds of people to the great sport of polo. Here at CSU Polo it is our goal to not only bring a National Championship to CSU, but to continue introducing as many people to the sport we love in a meaningful way.

tickets are $5 and are available at the Lory Student Center and at the front door of B.W. Pickett arena, thanks for you support!!
