Waterline replacement impacts College Avenue

May 8, 2014

Fort Collins Utilities will replace the 1930s 4-inch cast iron waterline in College Avenue from Mulberry to Buckeye Streets.

One lane of northbound traffic on College Avenue will be closed starting May 27. The project is expected to go through August and will start at the north side of College and move south.

Pedestrian and vehicle access onto campus will not be impacted by the project. The city will announce off-campus road closures each week.

The city project is aimed at improving fire protection, water quality and system reliability. It will impact water supplies for a short time two CSU buildings: University Square and the Visitor’s Center. Those building proctors will be notified in advance of any changes to water availability.
