Prepare for the Career Fair

January 31, 2014

With the spring 2014 Career Fair coming up, are you prepared to put your best foot forward?

Jobs, internships and graduate schools

The spring 2014 Career Fair is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 4 and 5 in the Moby Intramural Gym. The Career Fair is an opportunity for students to meet and network with various employers within their fields.

Often, the employers at the Career Fair have built relationships with Colorado State University and the Career Center, making it easier for students to begin their post-CSU career.

This spring's Career Fair will have more than 235 employers offering jobs, internships, and opportunities for networking over the two-day period. Students have the opportunity to attend all three days as different employers attend each day.

Resume Rush

For students wanting to get ahead of their peers, the Career Center offers Resume Rush. Resume Rush is a unique program where Career Center counselors help students update their and tailor their resume.

Resume Rush started Jan. 29, but it's not too late to get in and update that resume! The Career Center will host one last session from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, in Lory Student Center Rm. 230.

Diverse Reverse Fair

The Diverse Reverse Fair is a career fair in reverse. Student organizations whose mission focuses on serving traditionally underrepresented populations have applied for 30 available booths to present their organization and their members to employers who are committed to recruiting diverse candidates. This year's event will host nearly 150 student organization members and 150 recruiters representing 30 employers.

The student organizations who were accepted to this year's event went through a special training session to help their members prepare for the fair.

This is the second year for this event and includes well-known organizations, such as Charles Schwab, City Year and Starbucks as event sponsors.
