Study abroad discussion panel and mixer

December 3, 2012

Thinking about studying abroad?

Come enjoy some free food and fresh perspectives today from 5-7 p.m. at the Lory Student Center Grey Rock Room at the Study Abroad Discussion Panel and Mixer.

This event will begin with an hour-long discussion panel where you can have your questions answered by study abroad alumni, followed by drinks and appetizers served at round tables to allow for more personal discussions. The panelists consist of students who studied abroad in Africa or the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Latin America or the Caribbean, Australia or New Zealand, and Semester at Sea. There will also be a Study Abroad staff member there to answer any of your technical questions.

Explore your options and engage with your peers to discover where your education can take you!

Why study abroad?

“Study Abroad is a once-in-a-lifetime, life-changing opportunity with enormous benefits. Whether you wish to learn a new language, fulfill requirements of your major, or simply focus on general electives, Study Abroad will set you apart from your peers, enhance your studies, and engage you as a citizen of the world.

Study Abroad is more than travel and adventure. You will gain skills in cross-cultural communication, learn to think critically, and develop self-confidence, flexibility, and an appreciation of diversity. Most importantly, you will increase your awareness of the interconnected nature of the world. These skills are an essential component of your college education.”
