On Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, during the Independent College Bookstore Association 2010 Retail Conference in San Antonio, Texas, ICBA's Best Practices and Top Performer awards were announced. Of the 145 independent bookstores in the United States and Canada, the Colorado State University Bookstore earned top honors.
The MVP Award for Overall Outstanding Performance was awarded to the CSU Bookstore, demonstrating exemplary leadership within the college bookstore industry and by establishing and executing successful business strategies during 2004 to 2009.

This is the third time that the CSU Bookstore has been recognized by the Independent College Bookstore Assocation, or ICBA, for successful management and leadership.
CSU Bookstore leadership and other 2010 Independent College Bookstore Association top performers were recognized at a conference in San Antonio on Feb. 19.
Awards are selected by a committee of industry peers and determined using the following criteria:
The CSU Bookstore is located in the Lory Student Center and is operated by the University. All revenues from the Bookstore are returned to the University for student programming.
Independent College Bookstore Association is a rapidly growing retail cooperative of independent and institutional college bookstores (no leased or private stores) that is a premier organization in the bookstore industry.
