SoGES 2014-15 Sustainability Leadership Fellows

May 30, 2014

The School of Global Environmental Sustainability has announced the selection of 20 early career academics as Sustainability Leadership Fellows for the 2014-15 academic year.

The School’s prestigious Sustainability Leadership Fellows program cultivates future innovators and thought leaders capable of effectively communicating with peers, the public and media, and as future leaders on issues of sustainability.

“We’re excited to see these new Fellows representing areas that are key to building collective understanding and new solutions for the many issues in sustainability,” said Diana Wall, director of SoGES. “We had an overwhelming number of candidates apply, making it the most competitive year yet.”

SoGES recognizes that CSU’s academic researchers are a primary informational resource for the complex decisions that will determine our environmental future. Early career academics often overlook communication and leadership skills as they build their professional careers.

Over the course of one year, Fellows receive state-of-the-art training in environmental communication and developing solutions to address the complex global issues that span multiple disciplines. They also work on strategies for engaging with businesses, nonprofits, academia, and government, as well as techniques for collaboration and transdisciplinary synthesis.
