CSU showcase of cardiovascular research April 4-5

Monday is the last day to register for the Vice President for Research symposium on "Cardiovascular Research: Molecules, Models and Mankind" April 4-5 that will showcase extensive CSU research regarding cardiovascular health.

The event will be 8 a.m.-4 p.m. each day at the Hilton Fort Collins, 425 W. Prospect Road. The colloquium is free and open to the public, but reservations are required.

Keynote: Dr. Sinoway

The colloquium begins with opening statements at 8:30 a.m. April 4 and a keynote address by Dr. Lawrence I. Sinoway from the Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania. Co-chairing the event are Scott Earley, CSU Department of Biomedical Sciences, and Frank Dinenno, CSU Department of Health and Exercise Science.

Following the talk, the colloquium will include three scientific sessions - Basic Cardiovascular Science, Clinical/Applied Cardiovascular Science and Cardiovascular Epidemiology/Population Genetics. The event will involve poster and oral presentations by faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, professional trainees, and graduate students.

In addition to highlighting cutting-edge research and innovative technology for the community, the colloquium provides an opportunity for local cardiovascular scientists and other CSU faculty, students, and staff to enhance collaborations and communication among disciplines across campus.
