Renting 101: Preferred Tenant Workshop

October 27, 2010

Making the move off campus? Off-Campus Life is proud to present: Renting101: Preferred Tenant Workshop.

Become an expert tenant

This workshop has been developed for students to learn the rental process and become expert tenants, including information regarding

  • leases
  • tenant’s rights
  • codes and ordinances
  • budgets
  • parties

This event is taking place on Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in LSC Room 220.

Speakers to give expert advice

All of this information will be laid out and explained by experts:

  • Kathleen Harward, Director of Student Legal Services
  • Polly Lauridsen with Code Compliance
  • Mike Gebo with Building Inspections
  • Connie Jaime-Lujan with Financial Aid at CSU
  • Ginny Sawyer with Neighborhood Services for the city of Ft. Collins
  • Off-Campus Life staff

Better understand your role as a tenant

By taking this rental workshop, students will come away with the knowledge and resources to make finding a place -- and living off campus -- a much easier process. The student will also receive a certificate of completion that can be shared with landlords.

This event is free, but students must register. The deadline is Nov. 9.
