CSU OnlinePlus will host its largest graduation luncheon to date this Friday at the Drake Center.
Last year’s event saw a total of 60 attendees, including graduates, their families, staff, and faculty; this year OnlinePlus welcomes 155.
Graduates will be coming from across the nation and leaving with bachelor and master’s degrees in education and human resource studies, human development and family studies, engineering, music, fire and emergency services administration, agricultural sciences, applied industrial/organizational psychology, and natural sciences education.
The Spring 2013 event will feature, for the first time, a student-delivered charge to the class of 2013, the inaugural OnlinePlus Innovative Educator (OPIE) award, an appearance by Cam the Ram, and campus tours for the graduates and their families.
“We are honored to celebrate the Spring 2013 graduates of Colorado State University’s online programs at our bi-annual graduation luncheon this week,” said OnlinePlus Interim Associate Provost, Jordan Fritts. “It is our privilege to host online students from New York to California, providing them the unique opportunity to join in the University’s graduation ceremonies and experience our wonderful campus.”
OnlinePlus exists to contribute to CSU’s land grant mission of extending access to our renowned curriculum and faculty to students who otherwise wouldn’t have it. The bi-annual graduation luncheon and ability to walk in graduation ceremonies are experiences that students can’t get from many other online schools. CSU OnlinePlus is excited to give them the opportunity to come to campus and be a part of the Ram Nation having not been in the classroom throughout their degree programs.
