The best summer you've ever had can be in Colorado

June 29, 2009

Where can you go hiking, cycling, paddling, fishing, climbing, have scenic drives, visit national monuments and parks, attend festivals and fairs, and enjoy exquisite dining and a fabulous night life? The state of Colorado offers all of that and much more during the colorful summer months.

One step at a time

No one will argue that Colorado has some of the best mountains in the world. A hike through the Colorado mountains inspired Katherine Lee Bates to write “America the Beautiful.”

Wind on your handlebars

Riding your bike in a Colorado state or national park is one of the best ways to experience Colorado. With hundreds of paved and unpaved roads for biking, it is sure to provide some of the most spectacular scenery in the state.

Water sports

Thrill seekers can go rafting through some of the white water rivers of the Rocky Mountains. For the milder vacationer, sailing, canoeing, paddling, kayaking, and water-skiing is popular all over Colorado and rental equipment is readily available.

One fish, two fish

Here’s an opportunity to catch some 35 species of both warm and cold water fish. With over 6,000 miles of streams and 2,000 lakes and reservoirs to choose from, you can be sure there’s a fish for every hook.

Don’t feed the animals

Visit the animals that live in the state and national parks of Colorado. It’s the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with the four-legged friends that is indigenous to the state.

Shopping is a sport

Colorado is a place where you can find the latest fashions and the rare antiques. With major shopping districts, exclusive boutiques, art and collectibles shops, historical memorabilia, souvenirs stands, and one-of-a-kind creations – you can find it all in Colorado. Make sure you pack an extra suitcase for everything you’re bringing home.

A night on the town

Looking for a quiet place to grab a drink or a raging party that's nonstop? Downtown Denver offers the right environment that you’re looking for. If you want to experience it all in a night, just walk down a or two block and get a whole new scene.

Famous attractions

Visit these popular hotspots that attract naives and tourist, alike.
