Campus Update: Oval Drive opens

Oval Drive will opens to traffic and parking.

Update 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 3

Oval Drive will open at noon today, Thursday, November 3, to vehicle traffic and parking. All grounds and sidewalks enclosed by Oval Drive will remain closed until Monday, November 7.

Update 6:15 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2

Colorado State University classes and activities will be on a normal schedule today, Wednesday, Nov. 2. Students and employees should be cautious when moving across campus, due to snowy conditions.

Update 3:45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1

Forecasts are predicting 3-7 inches of snow tonight (Tuesday, Nov 1) into tomorrow, with chances of gusting wind.

CSU safety officials will monitor storm and road conditions. CSU Facilities crews are continuing to clean up from last week’s storm, and teams will be assessing walking and driving conditions on campus tonight and early tomorrow morning and evaluating safety conditions related to both snow and tree damage.

Update 8:15 a.m., Monday, Oct. 31

All buildings around the Oval are open, with the exception of Danforth Chapel, which remains closed due to damage to trees surrounding it.

Access to Oval-area buildings is no longer limited to specially designated doors.

Sidewalks on the outer perimeter of Oval Drive are open; Oval Drive remains closed to vehicles. Sidewalks inside of the Oval, incluidng the sidewalk inside of Oval Drive, also remain closed.

All classes and activities in buildings around the Oval will resume today, Friday, Oct. 28.

Access to buildings in the area continues to be restricted to designated doors. The Institute for Learning and Teaching, or TILT Building, will be open for tutoring sessions this evening (Thursday, Oct. 27) with access through its west doors only.

The Oval will remain closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic for several more days.

Be cautious when driving, parking and walking near trees.
