Scholarships for student veterans and student parents

Adult Learner and Veteran Services is now accepting applications for scholarships for student veterans and student parents. Applications are available in the ALVS Office, Room 195 Lory Student Center.  The deadline to apply for the following scholarships is Monday, March 5, 2012, at 5 p.m. 

Don Banks Endowment for Veterans Scholarship
Award amount: FY 12 - TDB (FY11 amount - $1200)

The Donald D. Banks Scholarship for Military Students who served in a war and/or combat zone was established to provide financial assistance to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled as a student at Colorado State;
  • Demonstrate financial need as established by the Office of Student Financial Services;
  • Maintain an overall minimum 3.0 GPA; and
  • Have served in the military in a war zone and/or in combat as defined by the United States Military.

Complete application packets include the following:

  • Completed application form (obtained from ALVS)
  • A copy of your DD-214
  • Financial award information
David B. Greene Memorial Scholarship
Award amount: $500

The David B. Greene Scholarship for Air Force Veterans was established to provide financial assistance to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • Be an undergraduate, full-time, student at Colorado State (enrolled in 12 credits minimum);
  • Be a sophomore, junior, or senior in standing
  • Have a cumulative CSU GPA of 2.5 or higher; and
  • Have served in the U.S. Air Force

Complete application packets include the following:

  • Completed application form (obtained from ALVS)
  • A copy of your DD-214
  • Financial award information
CSU Veterans Scholarship
Award amount: $500

The Veterans Scholarship was established with the support of the Student Veterans Organization fundraising efforts to provide financial assistance to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • Be an undergraduate, full-time, student at Colorado State (enrolled in 12 credits minimum);
  • Be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior in standing
  • Have a cumulative CSU GPA of 2.0 or higher; and
  • Be a veteran with 30% disability rating and honorable or medical discharge.

Complete application packets include the following:

  • Completed application form (obtained from ALVS)
  • A copy of your DD-214
  • Financial award information
Dream What You Love Scholarship for Single Parent Students
Award amount: $500

The Dream What you Love Scholarship for Student Parents was established by a CSU alum and former employee, to provide financial assistance to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate, full-time student enrolled in 12 or more credits;
  • Minimum CSU accumulative GPA of 2.0;
  • Preference will be given to single parents with sole custody.

Complete application packets include the following:

  • Completed application form (obtained from ALVS)
  • Current resume
  • Financial award information
