Be there to watch the Rocky Mountain Showdown

Be a part of the fun and tradition when the CSU Rams take on rival Colorado in the 86th renewal of the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

Senior quarterback Garrett Grayson passed for a school-record 3,696 yards in 2013.The game, set for Friday, Sept. 29, 7 p.m. at Denver’s Sports Authority Field at Mile High, kicks off the 11th season of football at CSU. This will be the 14th time the Showdown has been played in Denver.

The Rams are coming off their most successful season in more than a decade after finishing the 2013 campaign with an 8-6 record. They capped their first winning season since 2008 with a thrilling 48-45 win over Washington State in the New Mexico Bowl.

Optimism runs high

The Rams, led by third-year coach Jim McElwain, return 14 starters from last year, including record-setting quarterback Garrett Grayson. CSU has added several talented newcomers to the roster who are expected to help the Rams compete for a Mountain West title.

CU is coming off a 4-8 season and has registered eight consecutive losing seasons. The Buffs are led by returning quarterback Sefo Liufau.

Students can also purchase bus tickets to the game and back for $20 when they make their ticket purchases. The buses will be loaded at the McGraw Athletic Center at 1 p.m. on game day, with departure at 2 p.m.
