Ask Cam

What was lost shall be sent to the lost and found

February 22, 2010

"Hello Cam, Are there official Lost and Found locations on campus? If so, will you please provide a list of locations and a description or link to the associated campus policy. Thanks!"

Cam’s response:

One time, back in the early 80s when the mustaches were full and the socks were striped, old Cam lost his initiative. It was something that I couldn’t just recover, but had to rediscover. But I digress.

The main lost and found is at the information desk in the Lory Student Center. Items are kept for 30 days. Anything that is identifiable such as a wallet or purse, or is valuable, like a calculator or cell phone should be turned over to the police department.

Each building on campus also has a lost and found. Just ask around. Usually it’s the main administrative office. University policy states that items found are kept at each site for two weeks at each site. Anything not claimed should be taken to the Lory Student Center lost and found. All items will be donated to various organizations after 30 days.

The policy is found at this link under the listing “miscellaneous – 9.”

Aldous Huxley one said: “The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing your enthusiasm.”

So keep an eye on your stuff, lest it be lost, but of all things, do not lose what is most important to you.
