January 21, 2011

Matthew Wayne Kitzman, CSU student from Fort Morgan, passed away Jan. 10.

Matthew Wayne Kitzman, 25, of Fort Morgan, passed away Jan. 10 at his college home in Fort Collins after a short illness.

He was born November 29, 1985, in Greeley to Edward and Dorothy (Graves) Kitzman. He attended Wiggins schools and was active in FFA and FBLA while in high school. Matthew was passionate about showing cattle and he took great pride in his animals. He graduated from Wiggins High School in 2004.

After high school, he took a year off and worked with his uncle and cousins. Later he continued his education at Morgan Community College and he was currently attending CSU, majoring in Animal Science and Ag Business. He would have graduated this coming May.

Matthew had recently purchased his grandparent`s farm and he worked hard at keeping up with and raising his crops. Matthew was good-natured and he had fun no matter where he was. With his heart of gold he lit up the room when he walked in.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Edward and Dorothy (Graves) Kitzman, and his sister, Clara Kitzman, all of Fort Morgan; his paternal grandparents, Ted and Clara Kitzman of Wiggins; his maternal grandmother, Velma Graves of Akron, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Taz.

Matthew was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Kitzman; his maternal grandfather, Harold Graves; and his cousins, Nicole Graves, Charlie Harouff, and Rusty Thomas.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Matthew Kitzman Memorial at the Fort Morgan Credit Union, 329 E. Platte Ave., Fort Morgan, CO 80701.
