'The LGBT Edge' Nov. 18

November 16, 2009

Ever thought about the ways coming out or transitioning might help you in your career? Or perhaps you have never considered that all those hours researching resources could actually be a transferable business skill? Come to "The LGBT Edge" to learn how these experiences can relate to your future career.

Learning professional skills from personal experiences

Join S. Bear Bergman for "The LGBT Edge" where we will discuss how being queer relates to real-life professional skills. The coming out process often involves creating a support network, undertaking a rigorous process of education and training, cross-cultural communication, and renegotiating unwritten contracts.

A gender transition involves managing a budget, medical research, and investigation of laws and statutes. These are more than just transferrable skills — they're a testament to our determination, resilience, and other qualities that make stellar professionals.

This presentation is excellent for corporate groups and graduating university seniors.
