Nutrition Center presents 'Healthy You for Mindful Eating and Weight Loss'

May 1, 2009

Tired of feeling tired, too overwhelmed to cook, and too busy to exercise? Your health can't wait!

“Healthy You” is a 12-week weight management and mindful eating program, designed to teach you how to make realistic lifestyle changes. Led by registered dietitians, the program includes your resting metabolic rate measurement, individual consultations and goal setting, nutrition assessment, and body fat and other body composition measurements followed by weekly classes.

Topics include hunger regulation; meal planning, grocery shopping, eating out, and portion control; recipe modification and cooking classes; physical activity, stretching, and strengthening guidelines; environment and social support management; and overviews of dietary fiber, fats and sugars. Even if you don’t need to lose weight, this program can help you form new habits that will protect you against heart disease, diabetes, and other health issues.

Location:  The Nutrition Center @ CSU, Gifford Building

Cost:  $175 (scholarships available; please ask!)

Discounts:  Bring a friend and you each receive a 30 percent discount.

Individual consultations start May 5.

Classes meet Tuesdays beginning May 12 from 12-1 p.m. or 6-7 p.m.
