Outdoor program offers backpacking class

Discover the beauty and excitement of the Colorado mountains in the Colorado State Forest State Park. Our three-day trip will take you into the alpine environment to explore pristine lakes and dramatic mountain views, while quenching your thirst for adventure.

Pack up

The Outdoor Program in Campus Recreation provides:

  • trip leaders
  • van transportation
  • food
  • group gear

Participants provide:

  • basic clothing layers
  • rental equipment is available for those who need a sleeping bag or backpack

Trip highlights

During the trip you’ll learn about:

  • campstove cooking
  • Leave No Trace outdoor ethics
  • high mountain safety skills

On Saturday, we'll climb some nearby peaks offering amazing views of the Rocky Mountain National Park.

This weekend!

The trip will be from Friday, June 25 -Sunday, June 27 and will depart at 8 a.m. on Friday.

A pre-trip meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 22 at 5 p.m. for those who are pre-registered.
