Iran: Education under fire

November 7, 2012

'Education under Fire' reveals the inspiring story of Iranians of the Bahai'i faith who are prohibited by the Iranian government from going to college. The film is a powerful story of resilience in the face of oppression.

Inspiring story of resilience

Social Work in Action (SWA) is sponsoring a screening of Education Under Fire, a documentary of the systematic denial of the right to higher education of the Baha'i people of Iran.

"One of the most powerful human documentaries I have ever seen, Education Under Fire is sure to galvanize viewers who will be exposed to an outrage that until now has received little attention -- the systematic denial of an entire religious community of the right to pursue higher education in their own country."

~ Elise Auerbach, Iran specialist for Amnesty International U.S.A.

The documentary runs for 30 minutes, followed by a Q and A panel with individuals who have personal experience with Iran's policies and the Baha'i faith. Food will be provided, and attendance is free.
