Working at CSU

Inspire yourself series

October 26, 2010

Training is an investment of time that shortly pays for itself with greater productivity and skill -- though it's hard to remember this when the workload is heavy. Read what faculty and staff participants are saying about the free workshops offered by CSU's Training and Organizational Development.

Training refreshes, retools you!

Though it’s hard to remember when the workload is heavy, training is an investment of time that shortly pays for itself with greater productivity and skill.

A recent training participant commented, “It’s important for any employee to be refreshing, reworking, and retooling, no matter what type of employee, or stage of their career.”

Workshops free to faculty/staff

Training and Organizational Development’s workshops are free to faculty and staff. These classes provide an environment for energizing and contemplating solutions, allowing people to find new motivation to tackle workplace and/or personal challenges.

Training gives staff a chance to gain tools and insights to approach both new and familiar problems with multiple strategies. Interested?

'We found solutions'

These are a few of the comments from attendees at trainings during the first three weeks of October:

  • “I realized if someone asked the people I supervise if they’d like me to come to training, they’d say “Yes!” If we all get new ideas and points of view, it really helps the team.”
  • “This helped me see thing from others’ perspective. I gained a way to set goals and structure change in a broad way, but also with small steps over a period of time.”
  • “These classes are more fun than getting free coupons!”
  • “Coming to class saves more time in proactively preventing problems and finding solutions than the four hours it takes to attend. As a leader and supervisor, I know how important it is to set an example and encourage staff and co-workers to attend trainings”
  • “The group interactivity generated great ideas and solutions to challenges we have in common.”
