Colorado Science and Engineering Fair April 7-9

The 56th Annual Colorado Science and Engineering Fair (CSEF) will be held April 7-9 at the Lory Student Center in the Main Ballrooms on the Colorado State University Fort Collins campus.

Presenting outstanding research

The 56th Annual Colorado Science and Engineering Fair (CSEF) will be held April 7 - 9, 2011 at the Lory Student Center in the Main Ballrooms on the Colorado State University Fort Collins campus. 

Each year, over three hundred 6th - 12th grade students from around Colorado, as chosen by the 13 regional science fairs, come together to present their research to judges, scientists, each other, and the community. Awards are given out by the Grand Awards Judges in each of the twelve competition categories.

This event has over 120 Grand Awards judges (many of them CSU faculty), over 150 Special Awards judges and over 100 general volunteers (including many CSU staff and students) each year. To help with this event as either as a judge or a volunteer, please visit the CSEF website for more information on getting involved.  

Temple Grandin guest speaker at this year's event

CSEF is also pleased to announce that Temple Grandin, Ph.D., professor of  Animal Sciences at CSU, will be the guest speaker at this year's CSEF. Grandin will appear:

  • Friday, April 8, 9 a.m.
  • Lory Student Center Theater

Public viewing of projects on April 8 and 9

The research projects presented by the CSEF finalists will be open to the public on:  

  • Friday, April 8, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 9, 9-11 a.m.

Please note that the students will only be at their projects during the Saturday time frame and the CSU community is encouraged to come visit the projects during this time.
