Macklemore and Ryan Lewis concert information for ticket holders, CSU employees

Updated August 23, 2013

The annual fall concert, sponsored by ASAP and held within a fenced area on the West Lawn of the Lory Student Center, is slated for 5-9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.

Updated August 23

Tickets to the concert, featuring Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, have sold out, and the university is expecting a record crowd. The headlining artist has gained tremendous popularity since being booked at CSU, which is expected to greatly impact interest from ticket holders and other fans.

There will be security inside the fence, and security and police presence on campus will be increased in the areas outside of the fence. No camping will be allowed.

The acoustic levels will be monitored and end time for the live music --9:30 p.m. --will be enforced.

Traffic, parking impacts on campus

CSU employees and students should be aware that concert goers may begin arriving at campus before noon. The concert will impact parking and traffic flow in some areas of campus. There will be significantly more vehicle and pedestrian traffic on campus that day, particularly in the afternoon.

Concert attendee parking

Concert ticket holders have been instructed to park in south campus lots:

  • #240 (Pitkin Street West lot),
  • #505 (Visual Arts Building parking lot), #515 (Pitkin and Meridian Streets),
  • #520 (Gifford Building lot near Meridian and Lake Streets),
  • #575 (Mason Street south parking lot near College and Lake),
  • Or at lot #195 at Moby for $5. A CSU volleyball game also is slated to be played in Moby on Friday evening, so parking will be limited.

Parking lot and street closures

The parking lot adjacent to the Hartshorn building, lot # 421, and the parking lot adjacent to the library, #425, will close to incoming parking and traffic at 4 p.m. People who parked in the lot earlier in the day will be allowed to exit.

Traffic headed east on South Drive also will be closed at 4 p.m.

Food and non-alcoholic drink vendors for concert attendees

Food and non-alcoholic drink vendors will be on campus inside and outside of the concert venue fence. Vendors outside of the fence will be on Meridian Drive by the Hartshorn Building, between South and University Drives.

Special post-concert events planned for students

CSU Housing and Dining Services has established special hours on Friday evening for hungry students after the concert or volleyball game. Ram’s Horn Express and Durrell Express will remain open to students until 1 a.m.

Housing and Dining Services, Campus Activities and CSU Health Network also will sponsor late-night movies for students on campus after the concert. The movies will be shown at the AMC Cinema Saver 6 at Drake Center, 2525 Worthington Circle. Buses to the movies will run from campus to the theater. Movie tickets will be available the week of August 26 for students to pick up at Campus Activities Information Desk at the west side of the Lory Student Center.

Housing and Dining Services is sponsoring additional programming in the residence halls for on-campus students.

Safe rides home for concert attendees

  • RamRide will offer rides home to students beginning at 9:30 p.m. from the Transit Center at the Lory Student Center after the concert.
