The Clinical Sciences staff shares a story that many CSU units can relate to all too well. According to the nominator, Candice Hastings, the staff has been reduced by 60 percent over the last two years. Instead of any workload reduction, the staff has taken on a staggering 25 percent to 50 percent workload increase.  This is also in lieu of any base raises for state-classified positions, which includes all nine Clinical Sciences staff members.

“I am very proud of the way my team has handled themselves and the work to ensure our mission of customer service and excellence to our clients are being met," Candice said. "They are willing to help anyone and everyone that walks through the door regardless of the duties and regardless of whether that duty falls into their position description.”

Tears of gratitude

Emotion filled the room as tearful gratitude for one another was shared over a much deserved breakfast and coffee break. It was evident that this group of women truly supports one another on a daily basis with an unprecedented example of comradery and passion for what they do.

Instead of buckling under the increased workload, they instinctively came together as a shining example of grace under pressure. A job left undone is not an option for these ladies; instead they have taken it upon themselves to cross-train positions in order to ensure maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
