The work of Colorado State University photographers contributes to the definition of CSU by illuminating and recording point-in-time events across a wide spectrum of campus activities.

The recognition of patterns in speech, music and math allow us to understand the behavior of both physical and abstract objects. Likewise, photography as visual pattern both defines how we see the world and offers us the opportunity to discover new trends.

Use photos to communicate

Photography is a form of communication, utilizing objects, people and emotion to create relationship and enrich life. In that sense, photography is a symbolic language that many can read but few can write fluently.

To get a sense of CSU’s history and definition through photography, use your employee eID to log onto the photo database on the Photography website.

Once in the online catalog of stock images, you will have the opportunity to view four catalogs:

  • Historic
  • Contemporary_Photo
  • CSU_Brand_Public
  • Green_Initiative

Free photos with CSU eID

The CSU_Brand_Public catalog contains 24 photos that are free for anyone to download. Use them to enhance your PowerPoint presentations and tell a story of your life at CSU. You can also use them on your website, but since these photos are available free to all departments, if you want your website to be distinctive, then you might want to hire one of the CSU photographers to capture your vision.

Successful photography utilizes high emotional intelligence, high technical skill, subject knowledge, aesthetic sense and outstanding communication skills to help clients concretize and articulate their vision. In fact, a defining characteristic of professional photography is the ability to communicate significant information through photos. Explore the online database and read the face of CSU.
