Volunteer for the High School Diversity Conference

Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010
Lory Student Center
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

The goal of the High School Diversity Conference is to provide students with an environment and information that stimulates learning, interest, appreciation and understanding of differences and how we impact each others’ lives.

For the past several years, the High School Diversity Conference was held in conjunction with the annual University Diversity Conference. This year, the High School Diversity Conference will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, as a separate event from the University Diversity Conference.

The conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a welcome session that will introduce the goals of the conference to the students and prepare them for the day. From 10 a.m. – noon, and from 1 – 3 p.m., students will split into their respective tracks and attend sessions.

The Anti-Defamation League will be presenting two large sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, that will host approximately half the attendees for a two hour block while the other half will attend concurrent sessions. Lunch will be a buffet held in the main ballrooms of the LSC from noon – 1 p.m. A closing session will be held this year from 3 – 3:30 p.m.

Volunteer assistance is needed for:

  • Registration (greeting students and distributing conference materials)
  • Welcoming and directing high school students from buses to the Lory Student Center and workshops
  • Workshop monitor (distribute and collect evaluations, direct students to workshops)
  • Network and enjoy lunch with students
  • Distribute goody bags and escort to bus for departure

Time commitment is for a minimum of one hour or more!
