View a fun collection of historical photographs of children and animal 4-H projects at an exhibit in Morgan Library's Archives Reading Room, now through February 15.
The 2013 National Western Stock Show is underway, and some of the more popular events showcase the skills of young people in catching calves, riding sheep, and raising, training, and exhibiting farm animals.
A new exhibit in the Archives reading room of Morgan Library features reproductions of photographs of youngsters with their animals during the first half of the 20th century, gleaned from the Records of the Colorado Cooperative Extension and from the University Historic Photograph Collection.
The exhibit, entitled “Kids ‘n Kritters: A history of animal 4-H projects in photographs,” will remain on display in Room 202 of Morgan Library now through February 15.
Archives reading room hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. For answers to additional questions about the exhibit or the collections, please contact Linda Meyer, archivist of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Archive, at (970) 491-4692 or linda.meyer@colostate.edu.
