Fall Address

President Frank will deliver his Fall Address on Wednesday, Sept. 4, on the University's historic Oval. He will address highlights of the past year and efforts to build on CSU's academic excellence.

The University community is invited to gather at the Oval at 11:15 a.m.

The CSU Marching Band will begin performing at 11:15 a.m., with remarks promptly to follow at 11:30 a.m.

Picnic for our campus community

Immediately following the address is the annual all-University picnic, a free event celebrating and promoting the spirit of CSU.

The University Picnic was first held in September 1997 as a thank-you to the university community for pulling together in the aftermath of the devastating Spring Creek Flood. The event has been a university tradition ever since.

University classes will not be canceled, but departments are encouraged to arrange schedules to accommodate those who wish to attend.

The Honey Gitters is not your ordinary bluegrass band. With shades of early Americana fused with electric new-grass, this eccentric quartet has inspired and astounded audiences across Northern Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. The combination of a heavy bass line accompanied by the electric banjo leaves listeners reminiscent of early American folkways.

The Honey Gitters are Josh Beard (banjo and vocals), Greg Simms (guitar and vocals), Michael Acosta (bass), and Leland Leyba (drums).

The Honey Gitters will begin playing after the address.

Picnic menu

  • Tomato pesto turkey sandwich - sliced turkey, swiss, sun dried tomato pesto mayo with baby arugula on an eight inch Hoagie
  • Cilantro - artichoke hummus wrap (vegan) with crisp fresh vegetables and baby spinach
  • Multigrain Sun Chips/Feta and herb hummus chips
  • Milk chocolate chunk cookies'
