Imagine helping design a new power remote manipulator on a robot arm that senses loads in real time and generates a clean shutdown when the arm comes up against forces it can't handle?
Imagine helping farmers produce their own biofuel by developing a technology that enables them to crush oil seeds that are a byproduct of their own operations?
Imagine being a member of a team of motorsport engineers -- designing high powered, light, and efficient racing cars for Formula SAE?
These are just a couple of the design projects that teams of students at Colorado State University have developed. Would you like to be a part of such a team, thinking of ways to improve technology and the quality of people's lives?
If your answer is "Yes!" then you will want to check out Engineering Exploration Days at Colorado State, Saturday, February 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
High school students, their parents and community members are invited to learn about engineering majors and careers at Colorado State University’s Engineering Exploration Day.
The informative event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Engineering Building, Lory Student Center and Glover Building on CSU’s Fort Collins campus.
Engineering Exploration Day participants view numerous demonstrations from all engineering programs, including robotics and environmental displays. Engineering professors will describe the University's:
Participants will also learn about undergraduate life at Colorado State. Advising, housing and dining and the university's financial aid and scholarship programs will also be discussed.
Tours of the College of Engineering Building and the Academic Village (a living and learning community) are offered.
