TILT opens registration for 2012 Professional Development Institute

November 30, 2011

The Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT) has opened registration for Shape Your World, the 2012 Professional Development Institute (PDI).

Now in its 33rd year, PDI is slated for Jan. 9, 10, and 11 in the Lory Student Center and includes sessions for every constituency working at CSU.

Faculty, instructors, and graduate teaching assistants will find a range of sessions exploring subjects relevant to teaching and learning. General threads include: academic advising, critical thinking, curriculum development, service learning, student affairs, teaching and technology, Web 2.0 and social networking, as well as writing and WAC (writing across the curriculum).

Sessions geared specifically toward administrative professionals include My CSU: Understanding the Administrative Professional Council, Getting Involved, and Making Your Voice Heard. For administrative professionals who teach, the teaching and learning sessions may also be of interest.

State-classified personnel will find a huge range of sessions of interest, including ones that develop work-related administrative skills, management and supervisory skills, as well as general professional/personal development.

Many sessions will be of interest to a cross-section of campus. These include threads on diversity, student affairs, research, outreach, IT, green initiatives, safety and health, legal issues, and professional/personal development.

Don’t wait to register! Sessions do fill up fast! While registration is free, it is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Plan to attend the 2012 PDI, “Shape Your World,” this January!
