Virtuosos of flute, piano, and harp

French classical styles range from the clarity and precision of late Renaissance music to the sensitive and emotional Impressionistic styles of the early 20th century. This virtuoso concert reveals the artistic influences behind French music.

Virtuoso Series Concert: CSU faculty, Michelle Stanley, Flute, with special guest Margaret McDonald, Piano, and CSU faculty Rachel Ellins, Harp. In the spirit of creative collaboration of two artistic genres, this recital presents music paired with visual art.

Performance set against art visuals

The influence of art on music and music on art is present in all artistic arenas and this recital connects French music with its artistic influences shown on screens around the performers.

Music by Ándres (flute and harp), Casella, and Ibert help take listeners on the journey that the composers went on through their unique creative process.
