Continuing Education honored for website design by Learning Resources Network

January 7, 2010

Colorado State University Continuing Education has been honored for excellence in website design by the Learning Resources Network, an international association in lifelong learning.

The Learning Resources Network cited CSU Continuing Education’s excellent design, navigation and marketing features for the award. The entry was included in a showcase of exemplary programs throughout the world at the LERN Annual Conference in November. The winning programs will be featured in future LERN publications and on LERN’s website.

In selecting programs to be recognized for excellence, Julie Coates, vice president of Information Services for LERN, said the primary criteria judges used for those selected was the quality of being at the leading edge of the field of lifelong learning. In addition, judges also applied the following criteria:

  • originality
  • innovation
  • appropriateness as a model for other programs
  • replicability
  • measurable outcomes

The awards selection process is competitive, Coates said. The Colorado State University entry was selected from more than 140 nominations from four countries.
