Join ASAP on Feb. 16 for a panel discussion on our prison system. Listen to four experienced panelists, including Tobi Jacobi, who has worked in prisons as a writing workshop leader.
Did you know that CSU contracts prison labor to build all of our furniture? There's a lot you might not know about our prison system. Learn more and have your questions answered by a panel of experts at "Your Prison System."
Four panelists with experience in the prison system will present their views and discuss issues with the audience. Audience members will have the chance to ask their own questions, as well as hear panelists' responses to a series of questions about the prison system.
Tobi Jacobi will be speaking on the panel. She has worked with prisoners in writing workshops that encourage them to express themselves in poetry and other forms of writing.
“What I want my words to do to you. I want my words to fracture the images in your head and leave more questions than answers. I want my words to turn everything upside down. I want them to invite you in. Open up a dialog. Disrupt your day. I want them to leave you wondering why two million people in America today are locked up." - Judith Clark, a former participant in the Bedford Hills writing workshop.
