Online HDFS bachelor's degree a best buy

Colorado State University's online Human Development and Family Studies undergraduate degree completion program was independently reviewed and ranked by as a top "Best Buy."

The data-driven list spotlights the most affordable online bachelor’s degrees from regionally-accredited colleges, including majors in the allied human services areas of counseling, social work and the social sciences.

The degree rankings were calculated by analyzing 99 online bachelor’s degrees in psychology, human services, and the social sciences. Only the top 36 best values made the 2013 ranking list.

Focusing on development of people, families

CSU’s accredited Human Development and Family Studies online bachelor degree completion program focuses on the development of individuals and families across the life span. Drawing on theory and research from the fields of psychology, sociology, neuroscience, and more, the HDFS degree prepares students for a career in human services with adults, adolescents, children or families, child life, or early education. Graduates are also well-equipped to pursue an advanced degree in the behavioral and social sciences, education, occupational therapy, family law, or other professional programs.

“This degree program is socially relevant, and material provided is also applicable in so many different settings,” explained HDFS graduate Sasha Marsh. “From writing a research report on the effects of divorce on children, to developing a human services grant, to creating a proposal for job training in an effort to reduce recidivism, this program has given me the opportunity to look further into current social issues while expanding my own individual interests,” she said.
