Faculty and staff can participate in research review

May 15, 2014

Faculty and staff involved in research can participate in an online survey and open forum as a part of an external review of CSU's research administration infrastructure and operations.

“Input from the campus community is an essential component of a successful review process,” said Alan Rudolph, CSU’s vice president for research. “I would like to invite research faculty and staff to participate in these opportunities to provide feedback.”

Huron Consulting Group, which is conducting the review on behalf of the Office of the Vice President for Research, is collecting feedback through an online anonymous survey and also an open forum from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 23 in the Virginia Dale Room at the Lory Student Center.

Faculty and staff can participate in the surveys until midnight on Monday, May 19.  There are separate surveys for principal investigators and college and department administrators.

Rudolph said the review will result in a better understanding of the resources currently available to support the research endeavor and provide recommendations to:

  • Improve service to faculty
  • Increase efficiency and effectiveness of current research resources
  • Manage long-term costs and maximized investments in research administration
  • Mitigate compliance risks

Huron has performed work for more than 90 of the top 100 research universities in the United States and more than 50 of the world’s top 100 universities.
