Hat and Glove Drive thru Dec. 18

The Lory Student Center and the Office of Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement is accepting donations of hats and gloves on behalf of Homeless Gear, a local non-profit whose purpose is to help the homeless in Larimer County.

A thank you note from a child who received a coat through Homeless Gear.

Glove and hat donations

The SLICE office is now accepting donations of hats and gloves. The donations will go to Homeless Gear, an organization that aims to help the homeless in Larimer County.

Homeless Gear is a program of The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado, an independent, philanthropic, non-profit organization.

Drop off your donation

Please drop off your donation between 9 a.m. and noon at the SLiCE office on the main level of the Lory Student Center, Room 113. Donations will be accepted between now and Friday, Dec. 18.  

New and gently-used items

New and gently used hats and gloves are currently being accepted in the SLiCE office and in drop boxes near the east entrance of the Lory Student Center for the LSC's Hat and Glove Drive. 

All donations will be distributed to residents of Larimer County.

Personal hygiene items  

In addition to hats and gloves, Homeless Gear also has a need for personal hygiene items, including: 

  • Soap
  • Shampoo
  • Lotion
  • Deodorant 
  • Conditioner
  • Shave cream 
  • Disposable razors

These donations will also be accepted during the hat and glove drive, which will end on Friday, Dec. 18. For questions about the drive, please contact Lyn Weyand at or visit the SLiCE office.
