International Education Week Nov. 12-18

During the week of Nov. 12-18, universities around the United States will take part in the thirteenth annual celebration of International Education Week. A joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.

As part of the nationwide celebration of International Education Week, CSU has planned a week of international events on campus, highlighted by the Education Abroad Fair, which will showcase CSU's education abroad programs and international opportunities. Off campus, CSU President Tony Frank and Vice Provost for International Affairs Jim Cooney will be in Washington, D.C. to accept the Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization, an award that recognizes universities making significant progress toward comprehensive internationalization.

Tuesday, Nov. 12

  • 5:30 p.m. - Presentation of the Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization (private event), Washington, DC
  • 7 p.m. -  International Night at the Fort Collins Library, Poudre River Main Library (201 Peterson St.)

Thursday, Nov. 14

  • 11:30 a.m. - Chinese Culture Series: Chinese Architecture, Morgan Library Computer Room 171
  • 6 p.m. - Ice Skating with International Students and Cultural Mentors, Edora Pool Ice Center (meet at Laurel Hall at 5:45 p.m. to carpool)

Friday, Nov. 15

  • 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Education Abroad Fair, Lory Student Center North Ballroom and Cherokee Park Room
  • 3:30 - 4 p.m. - International Student Employment Workshop: Understanding the Job Search Process in the U.S., Laurel Hall
  • 6 - 8 p.m. - Friday Afternoon Club hosted by INTO and the Fort Collins International Center, International House (1400 W. Elizabeth St.)

Monday, Nov. 18

  • 10 a.m. - Education Abroad Information Session: Dublin Internship Program, Lory Student Center Room 220
  • 11 a.m. - Education Abroad Information Session: China Internship Program, Lory Student Center Room 220
