USA Pro Cycling speeds through Fort Collins

August 19, 2013

Break out the cowbells: Colorado State University is a proud sponsor of the 2013 USA Pro Challenge.

Billed as America's Race, the annual multi-day professional road cycling stage race draws the world’s top riders to Colorado from around the globe, bringing the national and international media spotlight to CSU and Northern Colorado. This year, watch as the world’s top bicyclists speed through Fort Collins as the penultimate stage in the 7-day race, highlighting, once again, that Fort Collins is one of the nation’s most bike-friendly cities.

Get stoked

Nearly 2,500 CSU Pro Cycling Challenge T-shirts, themed like the CSU-sponsored Best Young Rider Jersey, will be given away throughout the state as fans follow the race. CSU cowbells, also will be distributed in Fort Collins to help ramp up the spirit and make sure that CSU is a noticeable presence in television, online and print coverage during the seven days of racing.

CSU has also put together a webpage featuring the race and what makes CSU and our Fort Collins community such a great place to live and learn. Additionally, commercials highlighting our great university will run during televised coverage on NBC.

As part of the international exposure CSU gains through the race, the university’s Vice President for External Relations, Tom Milligan, also was interviewed by Steve Schlenger for NBC’s televised coverage of the USA Pro Challenge.
