April 19, 2013

It is with deep sadness that the family of James R. Feucht announces his death.

Jim Feucht

He died on Tuesday, April 16, at 9:20 pm at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge Colorado.  He was 79 (would have turned 80 on June 6, 2013).

A beloved husband, brother, father and step-father, grandfather and great-grandfather, friend and teacher, Jim will be tremendously missed.

Jim leaves behind his wife Ann, sister Miriam Ritter, children and step-children Debra Adams, Lisa VanderHeyden, Alan Feucht, Betsy St. Denis, Molly St. Denis-Hamann, Tom St. Denis, Joe St. Denis and Amy St. Denis, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Jim earned his Doctorate in Horticulture at Michigan State University then taught at Rutgers University, Colorado State University and CSU Extension. He was a professor emeritis at CSU.

Jim’s family fondly remembers his involvement with “Think Trees,” Master Gardener program, xeriscaping and his frequent flower identification tours on Mt. Goliath.  After retiring and making Grand Lake their home, Jim and Ann volunteered at Rocky Mountain National Park, Kauffman House, Mountain Family Center and Habitat for Humanity, among other organizations.  Jim also sang with the Grand Chorale.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a contribution in his name to Mountain Family Center of Grand County or Habitat for Humanity of Grand County.
