Community Welcome seeks volunteers

August 5, 2011

Volunteers needed

Hello friends o’ mine! Here’s an amazing opportunity to connect with returning CSU students and community members in a positive way. Some of you have already done this in the past, but I wanted to share it with more folks (and please, share this e-mail with all your colleagues).

Community Welcome is about 3½ hours on Wednesday evening, Aug. 24, when you can team up with a current CSU student and Fort Collins police officer to walk the surrounding neighborhoods of CSU to welcome returning students back to Fort Collins and spread a positive message about being a part of this great community.

You can also talk with long-term home owners about their importance in the neighborhood, their ability to help students learn about being good neighbors, and the amazing resources Off-Campus Life and Neighborhood Services provides.

Please consider and please rsvp. We understand this is a busy time of year, but this program really is a “feel good” event!

Volunteer check-in starts at 4:30 p.m. in the West Ballroom of the Lory Student Center; supper will be provided. Volunteers should wear their walking shoes and bring water bottles for use during the neighborhood walk. The event usually goes till 8 p.m.

If you would like to volunteer for this event, please contact Off-Campus Life at 491-2248 or e-mail

Thanks for your consideration, and I hope to see many of you on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 4:30 with your walking shoes on!
