Virtuosos of the Winds: Faculty ensemble

September 6, 2013

The serene setting of the Organ Recital Hall is a perfect one for this performance of chamber wind music by CSU's accomplished faculty musicians. The concert features compositions by Czech composer Antonin Dvorak and French composer Marie-Joseph Canteloube.

The next Virtuoso Series Concert concert features the Colorado State University Faculty Chamber Wind Ensemble.

Hear the faculty perform in a memorable evening of chamber wind music.

The Chants d’Auvergne

The program features Tiffany Blake, soprano, singing a set of Canteloube’s famous Chants d’Auvergne, with a rarely heard double-woodwind quintet accompaniment.

The second half is devoted to one of Dvorak’s greatest works, his Serenade in D minor, Op. 44.

These major works represent composers like Dvorak and Canteloube at their very finest. This Virtuoso Series Concert will be a remarkable evening of music-making.
