Spotlight on CSU: The Science of Brewing

Alumni and friends -- learn what students in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition learn when they sign up for the course, 'Brewing Science and Technology.' Learn the ins and outs of brewing, fermenting, packaging, and evaluating beers and ales.

At this Alumni-sponsored Spotlight on CSU, John Avens, Ph.D., ('69, '72), Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, will present material from the senior level food science course that he is developing on the commercial brewing industry, using yeast to convert grains and hops from farm to table. 

In this class, students learn how to brew, ferment, package, and evaluate beers and ales.  


The event will include appetizers and a cash bar.
